No Longer So Needy, Liz Truly Is A Modern Gal
This is a promise, says Elizabeth Taylor. Times have changed, and so has she, which is why she has no plans to marry again. Ever.
“I’m not for marriage of any kind,” the 65-year-old movie star told the magazine Poz. “I don’t see why anybody of the same sex or opposite sex in this day and age needs to get married. Marriage can be a very selfish institution. I’m saying never - never again!”
Taylor, who has done much fund-raising for AIDS-related charities, has the distinction of being the first non-HIV-positive person to grace the cover of Poz, a magazine designed for HIV-positive readers.
“I was so old-fashioned in that I always thought that I had to get married,” she said. “But that’s passe now, so I don’t have to do that anymore.”

Why do we media types hate Dan Quayle so much? Who says we do? Well, Quayle does, for one. The former vice president blamed the media for mistaking the meaning of George Bush’s diary entry that he “blew it” by choosing Quayle as his running mate. And he’s right. A Bush spokesman acknowledged that the ex-president was afraid the media would use the selection to attack his management style.
