Many Students Receive Itt’s Highest Honors

Several students received highest honors for spring quarter at ITT Technical Institute by maintaining a grade-point average of at least 3.8.

The students, listed alphabetically, are:

Mark Bell, Jesse Boyce, Ron Britton, Curtis Calhoun, Kyle Carlson, Josh Carver, Todd Harmon, Herman Hatten, Brent Haynes, John Hiatt, Preston Hudson, Jody Jensen, Richard Koons, Jason McMahan, Robert Melmoth and James Mills.

David Niemeyer, Chad Oster, Anthony Paladino, Norm Poulsen, Selena Ramos, Joseph Scott, D. Michael Shaidell, Daniel Simpson, Vincent Speck, Michael Stearns, Michael Vermillion, Linda Waali, Eric Walczyk, James Weight, Charles Wood, Christine Wood and Rick Wright.

ITT students who received honors for spring quarter by maintaining a GPA between 3.5 and 3.79 are:

Five Inland Northwest students were honored during Central Washington University’s Honors Convocation last spring.

The students, their hometowns, majors and scholarship categories are:

Eric Ala, Moses Lake, history, Dean’s Scholars List; Kristine Stewart, Moses Lake, elementary education, Dean’s Scholars List; Renne Bagley, Othello, Wash., music, President’s Scholar and the Medallion Award; Lora Jo Phillips, Royal City, Wash., elementary education, Dean’s Scholars List; and John McMurtery, Spokane, music, Dean’s Scholars List.

Three area students attending Grove City College in Pennsylvania were named to the school’s Dean List for spring semester.

The students, their parents, high schools and majors are:

Christopher Jensen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Jensen, Spokane, Freeman High School, English; Jenna Freeman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Freeman, Valleyford, Freeman High School, Christian thought; and Andrew Van Gerpen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Royce Van Gerpen, Spokane, Northwest Christian High, international business.

Michael Johnson has attained the rank of Eagle Scout as a member of Troop 485.

For his Eagle project, Johnson restored a trail in the Dishman Hills Natural Area. The work involved removing trash, clearing brush and installing a chain-link fence to show where the trail ends.

Johnson is a June graduate of University High School and earned an Associate of Arts degree at Spokane Community College while at U-Hi.

Marine Cpl. Daniel Herman was meritoriously promoted to his present rank while serving with the 3rd Marine Division in Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. He is a 1993 Rogers High School graduate and the son of Karen Miller, Spokane.

Marine Lance Cpl. Wayne R. Marchington was promoted to his present rank while serving at the Marine Corps base at Camp Pendleton, Calif.

He is the son of Cindy Marchington, Spokane, and is a 1994 graduate of Billings (Mont.) Senior High School.
