Students Protest Later Start Time

About 60 students from Rigby Junior and Senior high schools walked out - because they have an extra 15 minutes to get to class.

Classes now begin at 8:15 a.m., instead of last year’s 8 a.m. mark. Students prefer getting out of classes early to get to jobs and other activities.

They walked out at 8:15 a.m., Friday. Many parents knew about the demonstration and support their children. District officials met later, including the transportation supervisor who must set the bus schedules.
