Miami 45, Boston College 44 (2OT):At Boston, Edgerrin James rushed for a school-record 271 yards as the Hurricanes (2-4, 1-2 Big East) ended a four-game losing streak with a double-overtime win over the Eagles (2-5, 2-3).

Syracuse 60, Temple 7: At Syracuse, N.Y., Quinton Spotwood scored three times, including his NCAA record-tying fourth punt return for a touchdown this season, as the Orangemen (5-3, 2-1 Big East) beat the Owls (2-5, 2-2).

Army 37, Rutgers 35: At West Point, N.Y., Rob Lalumondier scored two touchdowns and set up Eric Olsen’s game-winning 28-yard field goal as the Cadets (2-4), after blowing a 25-point lead, came back to beat the Scarlet Knights (0-7).

William & Mary 38, Connecticut 17: At Storrs, Conn., tailback Alvin Porch ran for two touchdowns and quarterback Steve Fill threw for two more as the Tribe (6-2, 3-2 Atlantic 10) whipped the Huskies (4-2, 1-2).

Dartmouth 21, Yale 7: At New Haven, Conn., Senior quarterback Peter Sellers completed 14 of 22 passes for 198 yards, ran for one score and threw for another as the Big Green (5-0, 3-0 Ivy League) defeated the Bulldogs (1-4, 0-2).

Cornell 41, Lafayette 34 (2OT): At Ithaca, N.Y., Brad Kiesendahl ran six yards for the game-winning touchdown, his third TD of the game, as the Big Red beat the Leopards (1-6).

Kentucky 49, Northeast Louisiana 14: At Lexington, Ky., Tim Couch passed for a school-record 428 yards and six touchdowns, including three to Lance Mickelsen, as the Wildcats (4-3) walloped the Indians (2-6).

South Carolina 39, Arkansas 13: At Little Rock, Ark., Anthony Wright kept alive a key 99-yard drive with three third-down conversions and finished it with a 45-yard touchdown pass to Boo Williams as the Gamecocks (4-3, 2-3 SEC) knocked off the Razorbacks (3-3, 1-2).

Wake Forest 35, Maryland 17: At Winston-Salem, N.C., Brian Kuklick threw for 330 yards and three touchdowns as the Demon Deacons (3-4, 2-3 Atlantic Coast) ended a four-game losing streak to the Terrapins (2-5, 1-3).

Miami, Ohio 45, Marshall 21: At Oxford, Ohio, Travis Prentice set a school rushing record with four touchdowns and a career-high 203 yards, pacing the Redskins (6-1, 4-1 Mid-American) to a victory over the Thundering Herd (5-2, 3-1).
