Newspaper Seeks Help Finding Creative People
We are looking for 100 creative people in the Inland Northwest and we need your help. We want to hear about people like Jan Kruger.
Kruger, owner of the small calligraphy business Jan designs, knew a friend who placed images and words in a journal. The journal was plain. Kruger thought her dreams deserved better. Hence, dream journals - handmade and works of arts in themselves - were born.
Creativity is hard to define, but here are some thoughts:
Creativity is the application of imagination. So, creative people not only have imaginative thoughts and ideas, they also apply them in ways that others notice. Something creative is novel, original and shows insight.
We’re not just looking for artists. We want to be creative about where we find these creative people. For example, your neighborhood car mechanic who does wonders with used car parts or the relative who invents new ways to celebrate family traditions might be very creative.
It’s easy to nominate someone. Send us names. Tell us how we can reach these creative people, and why you think they are creative.
