Artist Jim Barness To Lecture Tuesday
California artist Jim Barness will present a free lecture, “Painting at the End of the Century: Three Views,” at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, in SUB Lounges A and B in Building 17 at Spokane Falls Community College. Barness is known for his unique combinations of pop culture icons and Renaissance-style figures. He combines cartoon figures and advertising images with classical presentations to portray a variety of themes. For more information, call the SFCC Art Gallery at 533-3713.

The Friday Music Club will celebrate its 82nd anniversary with a program at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Recital Hall of Holy Names Music Center at Fort Wright, 3910 W. Custer Drive.
It’s the group’s only program of the year that’s open to the public. The program is free.

Colville artist Jerry McKellar, a retired dentist, was invited to participate in the World Class Bronze Sculpture Exhibit at the Puyallup (Wash.) fair.
Ten Washington sculptors exhibited two bronzes each. McKellar’s award winning “Osage Silver” and “Kit Fox Lancer-Bearer” were chosen for display.
