U.S. General Visiting Russian Commanders

The commander of America’s nuclear arsenal, Gen. Eugene Habiger, will visit with members of Russia’s strategic rocket forces this week, the Pentagon said Tuesday.

The four-star Air Force general is scheduled to meet with senior leaders in Moscow, tour a command post in Balabanovo, visit Valadimir Missile Army Headquarters, and visit garrisons for the SS-25 and SS-24 intercontinental ballistic missile systems.

Habiger’s weeklong visit, which begins today, is at the invitation of Russian Gen. Col. V.N. Yakovlev, commander-in-chief of Russia’s strategic rocket forces.
