Hints From Heloise
Dear Heloise: I purchased two dozen inexpensive cotton kitchen washcloths.
We consider them one-use, so bacteria can’t grow on them. After washing the baby’s face or wiping the counter, the cloth goes straight to the laundry to be washed with bleach.
I use fewer paper towels a year since adding the washcloths, which cost less than $5. - Sharon John, Evans, Wash.
Dear Heloise: My daughter is a genius! After listening to Dad (me) complain that I could never find the TV remote, Rebecca presented me with a second one.
Now, with two remotes in the TV room, there’s always one next to the sofa and one next to the love seat. Since they stay put, they don’t get lost, and if we see one out of place, we know where it belongs. Is she a smart girl, or what? - Scott Howson, Fredericksburg, Va.
