Supersonics Say Farewell To Ex-Cougar Craig Ehlo

Tacoma News Tribune

As expected, the Seattle SuperSonics waived veteran swingman Craig Ehlo on Thursday to trim their roster to the league-mandated 15 players.

After failing to trade either Ehlo or guard Eric Snow, general manager Wally Walker and coach George Karl decided that Ehlo was the most expendable.

“The fact that we picked up Jerome (Kersey) and Dale (Ellis) late (in the preseason) meant that it was going to be very difficult for Craig to find minutes,” said Walker. Ehlo played at Washington State in 1981-83.

The Sonics placed rookie James Cotton (knee), veteran Nate McMillan (back and knee) and free-agent signee Stephen Howard (foot) on the injured list to begin the season, which starts in Portland tonight.
