University High Alum Game Is Sept. 20
Former University High School baseball players are invited to play in an alumni game, Sept. 20.
The game is a fund raiser in order to raise money for outdoor batting cages near the school’s baseball field.
“Hopefully we can get kids from all different years to play,” said Titan coach Don Ressa. “We’ll have a get-together afterwards.”
What Ressa and game organizer Marty Barth are looking at is for alumni players to contribute toward the double tunnel cage as well as play in the game.
“We’re trying to find a way to make practice more efficient,” said Ressa. “If kids get more cuts, it’s a good deal. It’s kind of funny. Kids don’t like to hit off a pitching machine. They’d rather hit live.”
Having a batting cage enables them to do so, he said.
To sign up for the game, call Barth at 926-3286 or Ressa at University High, 922-6710.
