Worker Dies Under Trailer Wheels

Associated Press

A construction worker is dead after being run over by a trailer carrying a bulldozer at a housing development in this suburb between Seattle and Tacoma.

Joanne Elledge, a King County police spokeswoman, said the man was unhooking chains that connected the trailer to a truck Friday afternoon when the truck began moving and he was caught under the trailer tires.

A woman who answered the telephone at Universal Land of Woodinville, the man’s employer, would not comment except to say that the dead man “was well-liked and this has been an emotional day.”

He was described as a 60-year-old Bothell resident. Investigators in the King County medical examiner’s office said his identity might not be released until Monday.
