The game was scoreless until the eighth inning when Portland’s Efrain Alamo scored on a Jeremy Jackson double off Boise starter Ryan Cummings. Jackson moved to third on a Michael Johns single and scored when Jerome Alviso grounded out to second base.
Boise began a rally in the ninth when Nelson Castro led off with a triple, and scored on Paxton Stewart’s ground out to second. The rally fell short when Jason Dewey flied out and Casey Child struck out looking to end the game.
