Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: Whenever I travel and there is a ceiling fan in the room, I have a great way of freshening sometimes-musty hotel rooms.

I moisten a facial tissue with my favorite men’s aftershave and attach it to the pull cord of the ceiling fan with a paper clip. I turn the fan on High and leave the room for a walk, dinner or whatever. When I return, the room smells great.

I even use this technique at home. It only takes a little scent on a facial tissue, the aroma is customized and it lasts much longer than commercial room deodorants. - Brian Kochera, Cranford, N.J.
