Man Found In Car Died Of Stabbing
A 29-year-old Spokane man found slumped over the steering wheel of his idling car was stabbed to death, a fire official said Tuesday.
Police are investigating the death of 29-year-old Michael Flees as a homicide. Details from the autopsy Monday were not released.
Flees was discovered about 11 p.m. Sunday in his car at the intersection of Pittsburg and Olympic - four blocks from his home in the 1200 block of East Crown.
Police reported Monday that paramedics declared Flees dead at the scene. That was not the case, according to Spokane Fire Lt. Jim Schaffer, a paramedic who responded Sunday night.
“He was without a heartbeat and CPR was initiated on scene,” Schaffer said.
Stabbed in the abdomen, Flees was taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center, where physicians worked on him for about 30 minutes before declaring him dead, Schaffer said.
Flees had lived with his girlfriend at his East Crown home for about three months, neighbors said.
Police have no suspects in the killing. , DataTimes
