Goldie Jackson Spokane

Goldie May (Friend) Jackson is 106 today. She was born Sept. 14, 1891, in Forrest, Ind., and moved to North Idaho 66 years ago. She’s lived in Spokane the past four years.

She married Alfred Dale Jackson in 1911 and was a homemaker. Mr. Jackson died in 1973.

The couple had five children: Marvin Jackson of Moses Lake, Meriam Sharp of Spokane, Glenn Jackson of Westport, Wash., and the late Lavina Evenson and Helen Stewart.

Mrs. Jackson has 16 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, 50 great-great-grandchildren and two great-great-great-grandchildren.

She attributes her longevity to eating good food, hard work and living by God’s laws.
