Human Rights Commission Hosts Discussion
The state Human Rights Commission will host a round-table discussion of civil and human rights issues at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Spokane Public Library, 906 W. Main. The public is invited.
Director Sue Jordan expects discrimination based on disability to be part of the discussion.
The commission’s Spokane office last year received more complaints regarding disability than any other category, including sex or race.
The commission is governed by a board of appointees that investigates violations of state and federal discrimination guidelines.
Gonzaga University professor Helen Donigan is a commission board member.
