John LeClair practiced with the Philadelphia Flyers at their training camp, ending a nine-day holdout without a new deal but with confidence he would get a good one.

“I expect it’ll get done as soon as possible,” said LeClair.

Dallas Stars center Mike Modano has rejected a six-year, $26 million contract offer. Modano’s rejection Wednesday prompted team officials to say that future offers will be for less money and fewer years.

Vyacheslav Kozlov, a 25-year-old Russian left wing who had 23 goals last season for Stanley Cup champion Detroit, agreed to a three-year contract with the Red Wings. Broadcast reports said the deal was worth $5 million over three years.
