Vassar Remains Perfect After Tko

Spokane’s Frank Vassar hiked his record to 11-0 with a fourth-round technical knockout of Richard Green on Wednesday night at the Coeur d’Alene Tribal Bingo/Casino in Worley, Idaho.

Two other Spokane boxers posted wins in front of a crowd of 1,500. Cruiserweight Rick Welliver scored a six-round decision over Stacy Goodson and Para Draine decisioned Sue Chase in a women’s bantamweight bout.

In the best fight of the evening, Ed Dalton outlasted David Robinson in a 10-round battle. Dalton improved to 15-5-2.

Derek Harmon moved to 12-0 with a decision over Malcolm Brooks.

Discussions are under way to pit Vassar against Dalton in November at the casino.

JV game canceled

Idaho’s junior-varsity football game against Walla Walla Community College scheduled for today at 3 has been canceled due to the Vandals’ shortage of players.

Idaho has suffered 10 season-ending injuries.
