Duvall, Travolta Team Up Again

Robert Duvall will reteam with John Travolta, with whom he starred in last year’s hit film “Phenomenon.” Sources confirmed that Duvall has signed to play opposite Travolta in “A Civil Action.” Duvall will play the antagonist, an attorney who defends two corporate giants for toxic chemical dumping, against Travolta, a personal injury attorney.

“A Civil Action,” which will roll Oct. 21 in Los Angeles and Boston, also stars Kathleen Quinlan, William H. Macy, Tony Shalhoub, Edward Herrmann, Dan Hedaya, James Gandolfini and Mary Mara. Steven Zaillian will direct from his own script, based on Jonathan Harr’s nonfiction book.
