Gates to the Liberty Lake public boat launch will be locked in the morning on Oct. 6 for the annual winter closure, the Washington Fish and Wildlife Department said.

“The fishing season at Liberty closes Sept. 30, but we like to give people another week to get their boats off the lake,” said Madonna Luers, department spokeswoman.

The ramp is scheduled to reopen a few days before the April 25 opening of the lake’s fishing season.
