U-Hi’s top-ranked boys, led by individual champion Seth Mott, and Mead’s fourth-ranked girls won team titles at the 5,000-meter Curtis Invitational in Tacoma.

Mott finished in 15 minutes, 50 seconds - nine seconds up on the field - and his Titans scored 375 points in a rare competition that favored higher scores. Second-place Gig Harbor, ranked eighth, scored 344. Second-ranked Mead scored 285.

Mead’s girls scored 351 to outdistance runner-up University (336), which had the individual champion with Jaime Miller’s 18:49. Second-place Annie McCabe, 11 seconds behind Miller, guided the Panthers to the team crown.
