Hastings Music Donates To Battle Against Illiteracy
Hastings Music and Video of Coeur d’Alene has donated $382 to the North Idaho College Learning Center to help fight the battle against illiteracy.
Donation jars will also be placed at each check-out counter inside the store for public contributions.
Other local programs provided by Hastings toward ending illiteracy include StoryTime for Children and summer reader clubs.
Nationwide, Hastings Stores have donated more than $200,000 toward literacy programs.
The Lake City Jaycees and Divers West teamed up recently to clean up Independence Point’s surface and underwater beaches.
Volunteer divers Rich Kuck, Brent Hadfield, Evonne Hadfield, Layne Chidester, Cory Jensen, and Jim Perrin hauled up submerged garbage from the lake bottom as part of the annual underwater cleanup event.
Jaycee volunteers carting off garbage and cleaning the beach included Jennifer Ostrom, Jon Pilati, April Hendrickson, Tim Rostkoski, Shawn Mosqueda, Dreya Grieg and Pam Knudsen.
