Two Devices Found Not To Be Explosives

From Staff And Wire Reports

The bomb squad examined a suspicious object on Tuesday and decided it wasn’t a threat.

It was a vibrator, Police Lt. Jeff Schneider said.

A Yakima County Jail work crew found an object that resembled a pipe bomb at the base of a tree in Milroy Park. It was wrapped in silver tape and had what appeared to be a fuse. A U.S. Army bomb squad X-rayed the device.

In a second incident later in the day, police were called to Larson Park, where a suspicious object was found in a garbage can near the Yakima Valley Community College campus. An agent from the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms determined that device was not an explosive, either.
