NEW FACES:
LeMaster & Daniels PLLC has hired Alice Hardin as its first director of human resources. Hardin, who will be based in the firm’s corporate offices in Spokane, previously held human resource positions with Egghead Computer and Farm Credit Services. She is a graduate of Washington State University and is accredited as a professional in human resources.
Gretchen Hoy has joined Century West Engineering Corp. as environmental services manager. Hoy, who recently owned and operated HOY Environmental, of Boise, has more than 18 years of experience as a consulting engineer. She will lead the environmental consulting efforts in Spokane and provide technical and regulatory support to private and public sector clients.
Sedgwick of Washington Inc. has added Rebecca McKimmey and Cheryl Kelly to its accounting department. McKimmey, who received a bachelor’s degree in business from Gonzaga University, came from the National Music Service Corp. where she was the tribute department billing supervisor. Kelly is a recent graduate of the University of Washington, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
Pamela Place has been named marketing director for Mission Ridge Assisted Living in the Valley and also will represent Cherrywood Place Assisted Living in north Spokane. Place, who has worked in Spokane for 10 years in the travel and health care industries, received her degrees from Wheelock College in Boston and the University of Nevada in Reno.
A.G. Edwards and Sons Inc. has hired Glenyce Ross as vice president of investments in the firm’s Spokane office.
Patti Maymon has joined Dakotah Direct as an account manager. Maymon, as part of the account services team, will be responsible for managing client campaigns to ensure goals and objectives are achieved.
Duane Jacklin has been elected to the board of directors of Washington Trust Bank. Jacklin, who graduated from Washington State University and received his MBA from Purdue University, is currently a general partner in Riverbend Commerce Park. He previously was president of Jacklin Seed Co.
Linda Tucker-Beedle has been named executive recruiter for Express Personnel Services in Spokane. Tucker-Beedle was previously the human resource manager of Spokane and Yakima’s downtown Nordstrom stores for the past eight years.

John Lodge has become the new anchor of the morning ‘Wise Guys’ team. Lodge began his radio career at the age of 13 and has worked the morning show in New York, Chicago and Philadelphia.
Scott Shannon, a 17-year radio veteran, is the new production director for Triathlon Broadcasting. In demand for commercial work, his voice has been heard on almost all radio stations in the Inland Northwest.
Debbi McMurray-Long has joined Qpoint Home Mortgage Loans Inc. as manager of the Spokane branch.
MOVING UP:
Stan Hughes was promoted by the Inland Automobile Association to handle the club’s marketing efforts. Hughes has been a counselor in the Motor Travel Department at Inland’s headquarters in downtown Spokane. He was an administrator in the Central Valley School District in the Spokane Valley from 1984 until he retired in 1996.
Trans-System Inc. has named James Williams chairman and chief executive officer. Williams, who has more than 35 years of experience in the trucking industry, was the original founder of the company in 1972. Gary King was named president. King joined the company in 1992 as executive vice president and chief financial officer and will continue serving as the company’s chief financial offer. He was previously a shareholder and president with the accounting firm of McFarland and Alton. Dale Peterson was named executive vice president and chief operating officer. Peterson has more than 25 years of experience in the trucking industry and joined Trans-System in 1976. He has held a variety of operations positions within the company.
Michael Kelly has been promoted to general manager of KAYU-TV FOX 28 in Spokane, KCYU-TV FOX 68 in Yakima and KBWU-TV FOX 66 in Pasco, Richland and Kennewick. Kelly was director of sales for Northwest Broadcasting Inc. and general sales manager of KAYU, KCYU and KBWU for the past two years.
98-KISC FM has promoted former “Wise Guy” Leroy St. Michaels to promotions and creative services director for Triathlon Broadcasting. He has 19 years of on-the-air experience.

Spokane-based Johnson Matthey Electronics has received the 1997 Supplier Excellence Award from Tokyo Electron Europe (TEL) for the second year in a row. Johnson Matthey is the first non-Japanese company selected as the best of TEL’s suppliers. Johnson Matthey supplies thermocouples to TEL and its customers.
