Steve Rasor Sagle, Idaho

Service for Steven Lee Rasor, 40, will be held today at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Sandpoint. Interment will follow at Westmond (Idaho) Cemetery. Coffelt Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Rasor, who was born in Nevada, died Wednesday.

He moved to the Sandpoint area in 1969 and graduated from Sandpoint High School in 1975.

Mr. Rasor owned R and R Framing and Rasor and Associates and was a member of the Bonner County Contractors Association.

Survivors include his wife of more than 21 years, La Wanna; two sons, Jason and Stevie Rasor, both of Sagle; his parents, Arthur and Nadine Rasor of Sagle, and LaVon and Patsy Long; three brothers, Cornel, Nathan and Edward Rasor, all of Sandpoint; and two sisters, Elya Santino of Sandpoint and Shaunett Street of Coeur d’Alene.

Wayland Davis Bonners Ferry, Idaho

Service for Wayland Harry Davis, 75, will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bonners Ferry. Burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery in Bonners Ferry. Bonners Ferry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Davis, who was born in Minnesota, died Wednesday.

He grew up and graduated from high school in Minnesota and attended the University of Minnesota.

Mr. Way joined the National Guard and served until joining the Army in 1940.

He served with the Army in Central Europe before returning to Minnesota, where he worked for the railroad.

Mr. Way moved to Bonners Ferry in 1948 and helped operate the Deep Creek Restaurant and Bar. He purchased the business in 1960.

He operated the business until 1973 and then owned the Valley Motel, Deep Creek R.V. Park and Canyon Inn for several years.

Mr. Way had served as a Boundary County sheriff’s reserve deputy and owned a snow-plowing and custom bulldozer business.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Bonners Ferry Gun Club, and the Sheriff’s Posse and was a charter member of the Bonners Ferry Eagles Lodge.

He was also a former member of the Bonners Ferry Elks Lodge.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Doris Mae; a daughter, Sandra Lee Chubb of Bonners Ferry; a sister, Jean Grunerud of Bonners Ferry; seven grandchildren and two great-grandsons.

Memorial may be made to Boundary Community Home Health and Hospice Services or St. Mary’s Episcopal Church.

Pat ‘Mom’ Pickens Spokane

Viewing for Pat R. “Mom” Pickens, 61, will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Short’s Funeral Service in Moscow, Idaho. Service will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Moscow Cemetery.

Mrs. Pickens, who was born in Moscow, died Wednesday.

She grew up and attended schools in the Moscow, Troy and Genesee, Idaho, areas and was a farmer.

Mrs. Pickens had worked as a waitress at the Headquarters Cafe and Mom’s Cafe in Lewiston. She later became a bus driver for the Lewiston School District.

She moved to Spokane in 1990 and worked for Laidlaw Transportation as a driver trainer for seven years and then worked for Silver Eagle Charters in Spokane.

Mrs. Pickens was a volunteer at various schools and had been a teacher’s aide in Colton, Wash.

She was a member of the Eagles Lodge No. 2.

Survivors include her husband of 26 years, Ed; two sons, Ken Pickens of Spokane and Gary Pickens of Grays Lake, Ill.; three daughters, Sherry Munroe of Athol, Idaho, Patti Gustin of Lewiston and Tracie Gustin of Clarkston, Wash.; a sister, Anne Huartson of Spokane; a brother, Rudy Knapik of Orofino, Idaho; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
