Beulah Littleton Tekoa, Wash.
Service for Beulah L. Littleton, 94, will be at 2:30 p.m. today at the Baptist Church in Oakesdale, Wash. Burial will follow at the Bethel Cemetery in Steptoe, Wash. Bruning Funeral Home in Colfax, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Littleton, who died Wednesday, was born in Steptoe.
She was raised in the Steptoe area and in 1920 married Sam Littleton in Lewiston.
They lived in Steptoe and later moved to Oakesdale, where they farmed for many years.
She was a member of the Oakesdale Baptist Church and taught piano for 20 years.
Her husband, Sam, died in 1970.
In 1985 she moved into the Tekoa Care Center.
Survivors include four daughters, Grace Rohrbach of Four Lakes, Nina Gregory of Oakesdale, Sammy Day of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, and Elnora Carr of Edmonds, Wash.; two sons, James Littleton of Spokane and Edgar Littleton of Puyallup, Wash.; a sister, Edna Crow of Oakesdale; 25 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Tekoa Care Center.
John ‘Jim’ Jones, Jr. Spokane
Memorial service for John Robert “Jim” Jones, Jr., 63, will be at 5 p.m. today at the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Jones, a retired educator, died Wednesday.
He was a lifetime Spokane resident and graduated in 1953 from Central Valley High School and in 1958 from Eastern Washington State College with a bachelor’s degree. He later earned his master’s degree at Whitworth College.
Mr. Jones began teaching in the Freeman School District in 1958 and then joined the East Valley School District, where he worked as a teacher, coach and administrator for 34 years. He retired with numerous recognitions in 1995.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Flora; two sons, Doug and Dale Jones; two daughters, Donna Daines and Dianna Powell; his mother, Ruth Jones; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Dowein ‘Donie’ Klein Coeur d’Alene
Graveside service for Dowein D. “Donie” Klein, 54, will be at 10 a.m. today at Forest Cemetery in Coeur d’Alene. Yates Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Klein, who was born in Butte, Mont., died Wednesday.
In 1953 he moved to Coeur d’Alene and in 1958 to Spokane, where he graduated from Central Valley High School.
Mr. Klein entered the Air Force in 1962 and served until 1964 and then returned to Spokane, where he worked in the automotive parts business.
He moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1976, retiring in 1982 due to multiple sclerosis.
Survivors include two sons, William and James Klein, both of Oregon; his mother, Bernie Berglund of Coeur d’Alene; two brothers, Bill Klein of Spokane and Mark Berglund of Coeur d’Alene; and one granddaughter.

Mildred Heidenreich Spokane
No service will be held for Mildred Enid Heidenreich, 87, at her request. The Cremation Society of Washington is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Heidenreich, who was born in Vermillion, Kan., died Monday.
She taught in a one-room schoolhouse in Kansas for a year and in 1929 moved to San Francisco.
In 1944 she married George Heidenreich in Norfolk, Va., and they lived in Redwood City, Calif., for many years.
Mrs. Heidenreich and her husband moved to Malden, Wash., in 1972. Her husband died in 1979, and she moved to Oldtown, Idaho, in 1983. She moved to Spokane in 1996.
Mrs. Heidenreich was a past worthy matron of the Eastern Star of Malden and was a member of the Spokane Chapter of the White Shrine of Jerusalem. She served for a year as a member of the Rosalia (Wash.- school board.
Survivors include two daughters, Phyllis Heidenreich of Greenacres and Margaret Heidenreich of Spokane; and five grandchildren.
David Jernigan Newman Lake
Vigil service for David Wayne Jernigan, 17, will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Funeral Mass is planned for 10 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Trentwood. Hennessey Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Jernigan, a lifetime resident of Spokane, died Monday in an automobile accident.
He was a senior at East Valley High School and a member of the Japanese Club.
Mr. Jernigan was an avid wood shop and metal shop student and was working toward a certificate in welding.
Survivors include his father and stepmother, Scott and Julie Jernigan of Newman Lake; his mother and stepfather, Shirley and Lynn Kelso of Boise; a brother, Ryan Jernigan of Newman Lake; a sister, Angie Jernigan of Spokane; two stepbrothers, Steve and Jarvis Woodard, both of Newman Lake; three stepsisters, Deana and Melanie Woodard, both of Newman Lake, and Krystal Kelso of American Falls, Idaho; grandparents, Harold Jernigan, Shirley Anderson of Boise and Helen Eller of Newman Lake; Frank and Veeda Collier of Deer Park, and Myron and Barbara McKinnis of American Falls; and great-grandparents, Melvin and Virginia Collier of Deer Park, and Butch and Rhoda Butcher of Roosevelt, Utah.

Gladys Peterschick Spokane
Graveside service for Gladys A. Peterschick, 76, will be at 11:30 a.m. today at Pines Cemetery. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Peterschick, who was born in Moscow, Idaho, died Thursday.
She was raised in Tekoa, Wash., and graduated in 1970 from Eastern Washington University.
Mrs. Peterschick was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Harold; six daughters, Judith Shelton, Carol Isotalo, Linda Buergel, Penny Perkins, Sandra Weber and Robbin Rardon; one son, Emil Peterschick; three brothers, Maynard, Delbert and Ben Anderson; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Edith Rudisile Spokane
Service for Edith E. Rudisile, 89, will be at 3 p.m. today at Heritage Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
Mrs. Rudisile, an 83-year Spokane resident, died Wednesday.
She was born in Roundlake, Minn., and in 1930 married James Rudisile in Spokane.
Mrs. Rudisile was a homemaker and a member of Fowler United Methodist Church.
Her husband died in 1985.
Survivors include a son, Richard Rudisile of Central Point, Ore.; a daughter, Marilyn Hall of Boise; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Thomas Goulette Spokane
Funeral Mass for Thomas W. Goulette, 83, was Friday at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Burial followed at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Mr. Goulette, a 52-year Spokane resident, died Wednesday.
He was born in Elk and served in the Air Force during World War II as a B-17 pilot. He was an instructor pilot in Rapid City, S.D.
For more than 20 years, Mr. Goulette was an insurance adjuster. He had worked for Safeco.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Reta; a daughter, Karen Robbins of Spokane; and two grandchildren.

Charles Fultz Spokane
Graveside service for Charles Bruce Fultz, 72, will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Evergreen Cemetery in Post Falls. English Funeral Chapel in Post Falls is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Fultz, who was born in Spokane, died Thursday.
He retired from the Navy and was a longtime former Rathdrum resident.
Mr. Fultz moved to Spokane six months ago and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
His wife, Jo Anne, died in 1995.
Survivors include two sons, Dana Fultz of Rathdrum and Mark Fultz of Hauser Lake, Idaho; two daughters, Kathy Jo Coleman of Spokane and Page Goins of Oregon; four sisters, Dana Hight of Oregon, Doris Roberts and Barbara Fugit, both of Indiana, and Lynn Mathis of Florida; and four grandchildren.
Evelyn Mahrt Spokane
Funeral Mass for Evelyn Mahrt, 89, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Reardan, Wash. Interment will follow at the Reardan Cemetery. Strate Funeral Home in Davenport, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Mahrt, who was born in Great Falls, Mont., died Tuesday.
She moved to Spokane as a child and graduated from Holy Names Academy and the Holy Names School of Teaching, where she received her teaching certificate.
Mrs. Mahrt was an actress in the St. Francis Players Theater.
She taught third and fourth grade at Reardan Grade School for eight years.
In 1935 she married Peter Mahrt in Spokane, and they farmed until their retirement in 1972.
Mrs. Mahrt was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, where she taught and directed catechism classes for many years and served in the Altar Society.
They moved into the Waterford retirement community in Spokane in 1996.
Survivors include her husband; a son, William Mahrt of Stanford, Calif.; two daughters, Kathy Brannon of Malaga, Wash., and Sue Perkins of Spokane; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Flora Biswell Stallings, M.D. Spokane
No service will be held for Flora (Corkery) Biswell Stallings, M.D., at her request. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Dr. Stallings, who was born and raised in Spokane, died Tuesday. She was 86.
She practiced medicine in Baker City, Ore., for 30 years and moved back to Spokane 28 years ago.
Dr. Stallings was a member of the American, Oregon State and Spokane Medical societies and the Baker County Medical Society.
She was affiliated with Phi Beta Kappa, Pi Beta Phi, the National Medical School Honorary, PEO, and the Apache Wells Country Club.
Survivors include her husband, Maurice; a son, Roderick Biswell of San Aptos, Calif.; two daughters, Mary Biswell of Rockville, Md., and Ann Biswell Tremain of Gilbert, Ariz.; a stepson, Dennis Stallings of Spokane; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Laura Maravilla Spokane

Mrs. Maravilla, who was born in Sandpoint, died Wednesday.
She was a homemaker and lived in Spokane for 53 years.
Mrs. Maravilla is survived by her husband of 43 years, Frank; four sons, David, Matthew, Timothy and Jacob Maravilla, all of Spokane; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Barbara Hatfield Medical Lake
Memorial service for Barbara Jean Hatfield, 67, will be at 3 p.m. May 4 in the Wildwood Chapel at Lakeland Village in Medical Lake. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Miss Hatfield, who was born in Hoquiam, Wash., died April 10.
She resided at Rainier School in Buckley, Wash., until moving to Lakeland Village 15 years ago.
Survivors include a brother, Allen Hatfield of Anacortes, Wash.
Mabel Mikalson Spokane
Service for Mable Lewis Mikalson, 88, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park.
A lifetime Spokane resident, Mrs. Mikalson died Monday.
She graduated from Lewis and Clark High School and in 1928 from Cheney Normal School, where she received her teacher’s certificate in music and mathematics.
Mrs. Mikalson taught music in Dixie and Ione, Wash., Pasco and Trentwood public schools. She retired in 1949.
She was a member of the Daughters of Washington Pioneers, the Spokane Genealogical Society, the Quarterly Dance Club and the Knife and Fork Club.
Mrs. Mikalson was a Girl Scout volunteer for 15 years.
Her husband of 61 years, Norman, preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Jofreda Mikalson of Spokane and Kristin Mangino of Vancouver, Wash.; two sisters, Hazel Cauvel of Spokane and Lillian Burdge of San Diego; and three grandchildren.

Frederick Wanless Spokane
No service will be held for Frederick P. Wanless, 62, at his request. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Spokane, Mr. Wanless, died Tuesday.
He graduated from North Central High School and Gonzaga University.
After serving in the Navy, he worked as a licensed professional electrical engineer for 34 years and owned his own business.
Mr. Wanless was involved in silversmithing, woodworking and making stained glass.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Ellen; a son, Fredric Wanless of Tigard, Ore.; three daughters, Karen Scott of Valley, Wash., and Barbara Overland and Linda Luiten, both of Spokane; and 11 grandchildren.
