Kathleen ‘Kay’ McMahon Spokane
Memorial service for Kathleen “Kay” McMahon, 71, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home.
Mrs. McMahon, who was a 40-year resident of Spokane, died Monday.
She was born in Nottingham, England, and was the first Washington state World War II bride sponsored by Sen. Skip Johnson.
Mrs. McMahon worked for Kaiser Aluminum for more than 30 years and retired in 1982 as a secretary.
She was a member of the Good Time Travel Club.
Survivors include her husband of 24 years, Jim; a daughter, Susan Haight of Spokane; a step-son, Stephen McMahon of Boulder, Colo.; two stepdaughters, Cynthia Frank and Kathy Orcutt, both of Boulder; a brother, Morris Downie of Nottingham, England; two granddaughters and five step-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Spokane or the American Cancer Society.
Thelma Thulon Juliaetta, Idaho
Graveside service for Thelma Mae Thulon, 87, will be at 3 p.m. today at Greenwood Memorial Terrace in Spokane. Merchant Funeral Home in Clarkston, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Thulon, who was born in Spokane, died Tuesday.
She was raised in Spokane and in 1930 married Victor Thulon.
Mrs. Thulon worked for many years at Deaconess Hospital.
In the late 1970s she and her husband built a cabin near Newport, Wash., where they spent their retirement years.
Her husband died in 1984, and in 1989 she moved to Juliaetta.
Mrs. Thulon was a member of the Vasa Lodge and was active in the Community Service Organization at her church in Newport.
She was also a member of the Clarkston Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Survivors include a son, Victor Thulon of Juliaetta; a daughter, Joanne Hunger of Dayton, Wash.; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Fern Pease Spokane
Graveside funeral service for Fern V. Pease, 78, will be at 10 a.m. today at Fairmount Memorial Park. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Pease, who was a 70-year resident of Spokane, died Tuesday.
She was born in Waldron, Ariz., and was a homemaker.
Survivors include a son, Ed Johnson of Mount Vernon, Wash.; four daughters, Debra Perry of Springdale, Wash., Norma Ellis of Rockford, Wanda Henry of Loon Lake, Wash., and Glenda Perry of Spokane; four brothers, Charles Little of Alabama, Glen Little of Spokane, and Norm and Cliff Maddox, both of Washington; a sister, Carol Vera of Minnesota; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Louise Pierce Sun City West, Ariz.
Memorial service for Louise T. Pierce, 80, will be at 2 p.m. today at Camino del Sol Funeral Chapel in Sun City West, Ariz.
Mrs. Pierce, who was born in Harrington, Wash., died Tuesday.
She graduated from Washington State University and, in 1938, the University of Washington.
In 1940 she married Monte Pierce in Harrington.
Mrs. Pierce was a teacher for 17 years before retiring in 1976. She later moved to Spokane.
She was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, Manito Golf and Country Club, Briarwood Golf and Country Club in Sun City West, the Presbyterian Church in Bethesda, Md., and the Desert Palms Presbyterian Church in Sun City West.
Mrs. Pierce moved to Sun City West from Spokane in 1994.
Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Belinda Pierce and Julie Skains both of Albuquerque, N.M., and Laurie Martin of Glendale, Ariz.; a sister, Dorothy Holman of Great Falls, Mont.; and four grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children in Spokane.
Claude Englund Spokane
Funeral for Claude L. “Roy” Englund, 76, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Riplinger Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park.
Mr. Englund, who was born in Lewiston, died Wednesday.
He graduated from North Central High School and served with the Air Force during World War II as an aircraft mechanic stationed in England.
Mr. Englund worked as a glazier for City Glass and Amsbury Glass.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1474, American Legion Post 9, Painters Union Local 269, Eagles Lodge 2, of which he was a past president, and Moose Lodge 689 of Loon Lake.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara; two daughters, Peggy Renford of Spokane and Tamara Marry of Lynnwood, Wash.; a son, Larry Englund of Springdale, Wash.; a brother, Fred Englund of Lynnwood, Wash.; and nine grandchildren.
Mary Zupan Spokane
Graveside service for Mary Zupan, 94, will be at 1 p.m. today at Fairmount Memorial Park. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-North is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Zupan, who was born in Belt, Mont., died Tuesday.
In 1921 she married Louis Zupan in Red Lodge, Mont. In 1926 they moved to Spokane from Billings, Mont.
She was a homemaker.
Her husband died in 1971.
Survivors include a son, John Zupan of Spokane; a daughter, Mary Brady of Sun City, Ariz.; three brothers, Charles Frankovic of Spokane, Rudy Frankovic of Buffalo, Wyo., and Andrew Frankovic of Harrisburg, Pa.; a sister, Ann Sherman of Billings, Mont.; nine grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Clarence Naslund Spokane
Memorial service for Clarence “Kelly” Naslund, 86, will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Fowler Methodist Church. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Naslund, a 52-year resident of Spokane, died April 17.
He was born in Barnum, Minn., and served with the Army during World War II as a technical sergeant.
Mr. Naslund worked as a potman and security guard for Kaiser Aluminum in Mead.
He was a member of Fowler Methodist Church, North Hill Masonic Lodge 210, the American Legion and the Moose Lodge.
His wife, Mildred Naslund, died in 1997.
Survivors include a son, Roger Naslund of Spokane; a daughter, Sharon Eaton of Dayton, Wash.; a sister, Evelyne Stasel of Duluth, Minn.; two brothers, Marvin Naslund of Champlin, Minn., and Allan Naslund of Esko, Minn.; and five grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Fowler United Methodist Church.
Catherine Boyd Wellpinit, Wash.
Funeral Mass for Catherine P. Boyd, 42, was Wednesday at her home near Wellpinit. Burial followed at the Hubert Cemetery in Ford, Wash. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Boyd, who was born in St. Ignatius, Mont., died Monday.
She worked as a cook and had lived in Wellpinit for the past 22 years.
Mrs. Boyd was a member of the Spokane Tribe of Indians.
Survivors include two sons, Brian Boyd of Spokane and Dominick Boyd of Wellpinit; her mother, Eva Boyd of Ronan, Mont.; her adoptive father, Sam Moses of Wellpinit; five brothers, Windy Bordean and Junior Green, both of Ronan, and Robin Green, Pat Moses and Francis Bonga, all of Wellpinit; a sister, Norma McCrea of Wellpinit; and a granddaughter.
Martha Green Spokane
Graveside service for Martha F. Green, 87, will be at 10:30 a.m. today at St. Joseph Cemetery in Trentwood. Hennessey Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Green, who was born in Newman Lake, died Tuesday.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Green was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Spokane Valley Women’s Club, Phi Sigma Alpha and the Gladiola Society.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Orville; a son, Gary Wycoff of Newman Lake; a daughter, Dolores Northcutt of Spokane; a stepdaughter, Linda Kohler of Escondito, Calif.; 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Helen Brown Spokane
Vigil service for Helen C. Brown, 86, will be at 4 p.m. today at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Brown, who was a lifetime resident of Spokane, died Tuesday.
She was a granddaughter of Patrick Frances “Patsy” Clark, an area pioneer mining magnate.
Mrs. Brown was a homemaker and was a member of the Sacred Heart Medical Center Service League.
Her husband, Frank Brown, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Brown is survived by a sister, Marnie Barrett of San Carlos, Calif.
Jean McAlister Spokane
No service will be held for Jean Elizabeth McAlister, 88, at her request. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. McAlister, who was born in Minot, N.D., died Tuesday.
She and her husband owned and operated Fosters Mercantile in Hunters, Wash., from 1959 to 1978.
They retired to Spokane in 1978. Her husband of 48 years, Donald McAlister, died in 1990.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Greene of Spokane; a son, Dale McAlister of Seattle; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Gregory Dimmitt Usk, Wash.
Private services for Gregory Alan Dimmitt, 33, will be held at a later date. Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Newport, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Dimmitt, who was born in Naples, Italy, died Wednesday following a long illness.
He moved to Spokane in 1971 and to Usk three years ago.
Mr. Dimmitt worked as a cosmetologist and beautician, both privately and at various Spokane locations.
Survivors include his parents, Ted and Doris Dimmitt of Usk; and a sister, Sheron Wiess of North Little Rock, Ark.
B. Lenore Kelly Florence, Ore.
Private cremation rites were held for B. Lenore Kelly, 76, at her request. Burn’s Riverside Chapel Florence Funeral Home in Florence, Ore., was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Kelly, who was born in Pullman, died April 15.
In 1942 she married Harvey Kelly in Coeur d’Alene, and they later moved to Portland.
They later moved to Spokane, where she retired from Spokane School District 81 as a cook.
In 1983 they moved back to Florence.
Her husband died in 1985.
There are no surviving family members.
