Robert Heider Ritzville, Wash.

Funeral for Robert W. “Bob” Heider, 64, a lifetime resident of Adams County, will be at 11 a.m. today at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Ritzville. Private vault burial will be held at Ritzville Memorial Cemetery. Danekas Funeral Home in Ritzville is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Heider died Wednesday from injuries suffered in a fire on his wheat farm.

Mr. Heider built a 500-acre plot into a family business with 4,000 acres of wheat, bluegrass, hay and potatoes.

He was a member of Zion Congregational Church and Ritzville Men’s Golf Association, was a Little League coach, helped in 4-H, and was a past board member of Ritzville Warehouse Co. and a former Jaycee.

Mr. Heider was an active booster of Ritzville High School sports, an Army veteran, and an avid traveler, bowler and golfer.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Evelyn; two sons, James Heider of Ritzville and Mitchel Heider of Bellevue, Wash.; two daughters, Lori Olson of Ritzville and Kristin Humphrey of Spokane; a brother, Alvin Heider of Lind, Wash.; and eight grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Bronco Boosters or Zion Congregational Church Memorial Fund.

Phyllis Keener Spokane

Memorial service for Phyllis K. Keener, 81, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Valley Foursquare Gospel Church. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Keener, who was born in Priest River, Idaho, died July 27.

She moved to Spokane in 1925 and graduated from West Valley High School and Kinman Business College.

In 1941 she married Leo Keener and was active in the ministry at Valley Foursquare Gospel Church.

Her husband preceded her in death.

Mrs. Keener is survived by a son, Lynn Keener, and a daughter, Kim Sager, both of Spokane; a brother, Robert Watts of Spokane; two sisters, Charlotte Halvorsen of Spokane and June Opperman of Fountain, Fla.; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Garland Harvey Spokane

Graveside service for Garland L. Harvey, 90, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Riverside Memorial Park. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Harvey, who died Wednesday, was a 56-year Spokane resident. He was born in Merna, Neb.

He worked in construction and then as a janitor from 1957 until 1972, and had worked for Gonzaga University.

His wife, Edith, died in 1991.

Mr. Harvey is survived by a daughter, Shirley Harvey of Spokane.
