Michael Buford Spokane
Visitation for Michael R. Buford, 46, will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. today at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Buford, who died Thursday, was born in Philadelphia.
He graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School and from Lincoln Technical Institute, both in Philadelphia.
Mr. Buford served in the Army for nine years during the Vietnam War.
He moved to Spokane in 1979 from Fort Hood, Texas.
He graduated from Spokane Community College and had worked for the Postal Service as a letter carrier for the past 14 years.
Mr. Buford was a member of Torresdale Boys Club, Veterans of Foreign Wars Hillyard Post 1474, Gold Wing Road Riders Association and the Chargers bowling team.
Survivors include his wife, Lynne; a daughter, Alicia Buford of Spokane; a stepdaughter, Heidi Smith, and a stepson, Sean Smith, both of Spokane; his mother, Dorothy Buford of Mantua, N.J.; four brothers, Keith Buford of Salisbury, Mass., Carlos Buford of Elkins Park, Pa., Dion Buford of Mantua, N.J., and Derek Buford of Philadelphia; and a sister, Danielle Buford of Mantua.

Edna Adams Coeur d’Alene
Memorial service for Edna Evans Adams, 80, will be at 1 p.m. today at Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene. Mrs. Adams, who was born in Brazil, died Saturday.
She graduated from high school and nursing school in Missouri and worked as a public health nurse in Western Montana.
Mrs. Adams also operated a guiding and hiking concession at Glacier Park before moving to Coeur d’Alene in 1948.
She worked at Lake City General Hospital and then as a public health nurse for Kootenai County before helping to organize and implement home health care in the five northern Idaho counties.
Mrs. Adams retired in 1984. She was a member of Kootenai Medical Center Auxiliary and a charter member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Coeur d’Alene.
She was a past officer and member of the Idaho State Nurses Association and was a past board member of Jewett House.
Survivors include her husband, Jack; two sons, Bud Evans of Chewelah, Wash., and Floyd Luke of Bainbridge Island, Wash.; two daughters, April Donahoe of Bainbridge Island and Sharon Fleet of Ontario, Canada; two stepsons, John and Wally Adams, both of Coeur d’Alene; two stepdaughters, Joyce Russell and Janis Meckel, both of Coeur d’Alene; two sisters, Paula Bates and Esther McPheeters, both of Missouri; 24 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Morris Damschen Spokane
Funeral for Morris F. Damschen, 86, is scheduled for 11 a.m. today at Fairmount Memorial Park Sunset Mausoleum Chapel. Burial will follow. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Damschen, a 50-year Spokane resident, died Friday.
He was born in Parshall, N.D., and served in the Army during World War II.
Mr. Damschen worked as an assistant manager for a grocery store in Spokane and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1474 and Hillyard Congregational Church.
In 1970 he married Margie Evans in Spokane.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Clifford Damschen of Spokane and Marvin Damschen of Coeur d’Alene; two daughters, Lorane Henke and Ileta Doree, both of Spokane; 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Marjorie Puckett Spokane
Memorial service for Marjorie E. Puckett, 72, is set for 11 a.m. today at Heritage Funeral Home.
Mrs. Puckett, who was born in Spirit Lake, Idaho, died Friday.
In 1947 she married Jess Puckett in Kellogg.
She was a 40-year Spokane resident and worked as a clerk for the Retired Senior Volunteer Program for many years.
Survivors include a son, Douglas Puckett of Spokane; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Ray Huddle Seattle
Funeral for Ray Huddle, 90, will be at 11 a.m. today at Harrington (Wash.) Community Congregational Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Harrington, Wash. Strate Funeral Home in Davenport, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Huddle, a former longtime Harrington resident, died Thursday.
He was born in Harrington worked as a farmer there for many years.
He was a member of Harrington Community Congregational Church, the Harrington Gun Club and the Spokane Elks Lodge and was a former chairman of Harrington school board. Mr. Huddle moved to Seattle about 10 years ago.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Elsie; a daughter, JoAnn Baggett of Seattle; a brother, Ralph Huddle of Harrington; and two granddaughters.

Rosie Hettinger Usk, Wash.
Funeral for Rosie M. Hettinger, 88, is planned for 2 p.m. today at Riplinger Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Newport, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Hettinger, a 43-year Usk resident, died Saturday.
She was born in Orofino, Idaho, and in 1932 married George Hettinger in Asotin, Wash.
Mrs. Hettinger was a homemaker.
Her husband died in 1988.
Survivors include seven sons, Ashley and Steve Hettinger, and Lawrence Dickeson, all of Spokane, Albert Hettinger of Newport, Don Hettinger of Wisconsin, Jack Hettinger of California and Eldon Borgeson of Grangeville, Idaho; four daughters, Helen Ruse, Pauline O’Brien and Geraldine Hettinger, all of Spokane, and Joyce Defrehn of Hayden Lake, Idaho; a brother, James Martin of Newport; 47 grandchildren and 57 great-grandchildren.
Benjamin Poliquin Davenport, Wash.
Funeral for Benjamin P. Poliquin, 58, is set for 2 p.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Private inurnment will be held.
Mr. Poliquin, who was born in LaFlesche, Saskatchewan, died Friday. He had lived in Davenport since 1986.
He worked in the oil industry as a sales manager.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Heather; a son, Darryl Poliquin of Olympia; two daughters, Wendy Crabill of Olympia and Nicole Poliquin of Edmonton, Alberta; his mother, Mary Poliquin of LaFlesche; three brothers, Raymond Poliquin of Medicine Hat, Alberta, Frank Poliquin of Barrie, Ontario, and Paul Poliquin of Miami; and five grandchildren.

Robert Knott Bonners Ferry, Idaho
Service for Robert B. Knott, 54, will be at 3 p.m. today at the Full Faith Gospel Church in Onaway, Idaho. Reception will follow. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Knott, who was born in Rocky Mount, N.C., died Saturday.
He served in the Navy for four years and was an 11-year resident of Bonners Ferry.
Mr. Knott worked as a rural mail carrier for 11 years.
Survivors include his wife, Celia; four children, James and Sarah Knott, both of Bonners Ferry, Rori Knott of Bangor, Maine, and Diana Minden of Princeton, Idaho; three brothers, Jerry Knott of Spokane, Dennis Knott of Pensacola, Fla., and Phil Knott of San Diego; a sister, Janis Johnson of Spokane; and two grandchildren.

Mary Dodge Priest River, Idaho
Private family service for Mary Elizabeth Dodge was held.
Mrs. Dodge, who was born in Hood River, Ore., died Wednesday. She was 76.
She was raised in California and graduated from high school there.
Mrs. Dodge worked for Kaiser Aluminum at Trentwood. She had been a resident of Priest River since 1976, when she moved from Spokane.
Survivors include her husband, Raymond; a daughter, Kay Spilker of Rosarita, Mexico; a son, Michael Dodge of Marysville, Wash.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
George McCabe Sr. Spokane
Memorial service for George A. McCabe Sr., 68, is set for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hillyard Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1474. The Cremation Society of Washington is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. McCabe, who was born in Easton, Mass., died Thursday.
He retired from the Air Force after 25 years, including service in the Vietnam War. He retired from Gonzaga University’s maintenance department in 1992.
He was a 24-year resident of Spokane and was a member of Hillyard Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1474 and Spokane Eagles Lodge.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Carol; two daughters, Georgia Martin and Nancie McDermott, both of Spokane; two son, Ray and George McCabe Jr., both of Spokane; a sister, Lois Linder of Avon, Mass.; 10 grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Mary Winton Olympia
Graveside service for Mary E. Winton, 88, is scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
Mrs. Winton, a former 86-year Spokane resident, died Friday.
She was born in Spokane and graduated in 1927 from North Central High School.
In 1941 she married James Winton and was employed by the Washington Water Power Co. in the purchasing department from 1937 to 1945.
For 58 years Mrs. Winton was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where she was active in Lucia Pratt Circle, Mariners and the Women’s Club and was a junior and senior high youth group leader. She was also a Toastmistress.
She was an active volunteer from 1960 to 1974 for the American Red Cross.
She had lived in Olympia for the past year and a half.
Her husband died in January.
Mrs. Winton is survived by a daughter, Jane McKillip of Olympia; four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Ivan Pastarnak Spokane
Funeral for Ivan S. Pastarnak, 63, is planned for 11 a.m. Wednesday at Heritage Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park.
Mr. Pastarnak, who was born in Zaporozhe, Ukraine, died Sunday.
He graduated from Railroad University in 1958 and retired as a compressed-gas industry technician.
Mr. Pastarnak was a 10-year resident of Spokane and a member of the Russian Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Zhanna; two sons, Alex and Victor Pastarnak, both of Spokane; three daughters, Alla Pastarnak of Charlotte, N.C., and Tanya Sulima and Marina Bosieva, both of Russia; a sister, Lida Korobko of Russia; and three grandchildren.
Marie (Luchini) Ward Hayden Lake, Idaho
Service for Marie V. (Luchini) Ward, 83, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Funeral Home.
Mrs. Ward, who was born in Harrison, Idaho, died Wednesday.
She lived in Harrison until moving to Hayden Lake in 1962 and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold.
Survivors include a son, Dale Ward of Coeur d’Alene; a daughter, Bonnie Rumelhart of Hayden Lake; four sisters, Flora Canfield of California, Lizaya Collier of Coeur d’Alene, Elsie Pascuzzi of Spokane and Gisella Romano of Oregon; two brothers, Secondo and Angelo Luchini of California; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Jean (Keiser) Reiter Spokane
Memorial service for Jean (Keiser) Reiter, 69, will be held at a later date in Deer Park. The Cremation Society of Washington is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Reiter, who was born in Deer Park, died Thursday.
She graduated from Deer Park High School and worked for Kaiser Aluminum, American Sign and Indicator, and for many years as a claims adjuster and supervisor for the Washington State Employment Security Department in Spokane. She retired in 1992.
Survivors include two sons, Mike Reiter of Deer Park and Joel Reiter of Princeton, Minn.; two daughters, Jill Bray of Deer Park and Gail Ellis of Renton, Wash.; and 10 grandchildren.

Norma (Shepard) Michael Spokane

Mrs. Michael, who was born in Buffalo, N.Y., died Wednesday.
She moved to Spokane in 1979 and worked as a coach operator for the Spokane Transit Authority.
Survivors include her husband, Lowell; three daughters, Karen Anderson, and Pamela and Cheryl Schenk; a son, David Schenk; a stepdaughter, Kristine Michael; a sister, Joan Zehler; nine grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Randall Lemburg Nordman, Idaho
A gathering for W. Randall “Randy” Lemburg, 61, will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at his home in Nordman. Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Newport, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Lemburg, who was born in Farwell, Neb., died Wednesday.
In 1954 he married Pauline Mortensen in Nebraska and moved to the Priest Lake, Idaho, area in 1970.
He was a self-employed logger.
His wife died in 1995.
Survivors include a daughter, Kristy Ann Pettit of Post Falls; a son, Robert Lemburg of Otis Orchards; a brother, Laverne Lemburg of Denver; a sister, Norma Ball of Aurora, Colo.; and six grandchildren.
Robert Malone Spokane
Memorial service for Robert “Bob” Malone, 80, was Monday at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home.
Mr. Malone, who was born in Rich Valley, Ind., and raised in Spokane, died Friday.
He served in the Army during World War II and the Korean War.
In 1946 he married Myrle Hutchins in Durham, N.C.
He worked at Spokane Machinery for 36 years and retired in 1983.
Mr. Malone worked as a volunteer with Cub Scouts for many years and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Hillyard Post 1474, Scottish Rite, Masonic Orchard Lodge 200, Eagles Lodge, El Katif Temple, Spokane Valley Shrine Club, the Harlequin Pranksters Unit and Footprinters Chapter 34.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Mary Holcomb and Colleen Malone, both of Spokane and Betty Sue Malone of Medical Lake; a son, Michael Malone of Vancouver, Wash.; a sister, Peggy Doell of Oakland, Calif.; three brothers, Jack Malone of Spokane, Pat Malone of Veradale, and Max Malone of Post Falls; and four grandchildren.

Donna Graves Deer Park
Funeral and inurnment for Donna Lorraine Graves, 72, was Monday at Woodland Cemetery in Deer Park.
Mrs. Graves, who died Friday, was born in Lawndale, Calif.
She worked as a beautician for many years and had been a resident of the Deer Park and Clayton, Wash., areas since the mid-1950s.
Mrs. Graves was a member of Clayton Community Church.
Her husband, Robert Graves, died in 1984.
Survivors include two sons, James Graves of Liberty Lake and Jody Graves of Detroit; two daughters, Janice Tarter of Twin Lakes, Idaho, and Anita Kraft of Calgary, Alberta; a brother, Vernon Goodwin of Salmon, Idaho; and a sister, Rita Crowfoot of Spokane.
Renio R. Jantti Spokane
No service will be held for Renio R. Jantti (Ronald R. Yante). HennesseySmith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Yante, a 60-year resident of Spokane, died Friday. He was 81.
He was born in Kellogg and served in the Army during World War II.
Mr. Yante worked as a cook and was a member of American Legion Post 9.
Survivors include two brothers, Viljo Jantti of Spokane and Waino Jantti of Kingston, Idaho; and a sister, Martha Hutchinson of Spokane.
