Josephine ‘Joe’ Fergen Spokane
Visitation for Josephine “Joe” Fergen will be from 9 to 11 a.m. today at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Funeral is scheduled for noon today at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Rosewood Cemetery in Fairfield.
Mrs. Fergen, who died Wednesday, was born in Washtucna, Wash. She was 78.
She moved to the Northport, Wash., area and in 1938 graduated from Northport High School.
In 1943 she married Bill Fergen.
Mrs. Fergen then moved to Spokane and worked for The Spokesman-Review in the classified department and at The Spokane Country Club.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Gary Fergen of Spokane and Lon Fergen of Kettle Falls, Wash.; a sister, Hazel Miller of Bothell, Wash.; two grandsons and one great-grandson.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Eastern Washington.
Walter Texmo Veradale
Memorial service for Watler A. Texmo, 81, was Friday at Episcopal Community Church.
Mr. Texmo, a 12-year Veradale resident, died Wednesday.
He was born in Pinawa, Manitoba, and operated Texmo Corp.
Mr. Texmo was a member of Episcopal Community Church.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Betty; a son, Michael Texmo of Omaha, Neb.; three daughters, Alexandra Texmo-Dokken of Mead, Victoria McCracken of Elk and Dell Texmo-Storey of St. John, Newfoundland; and eight grandchildren.
Selma Farnsworth Spokane
Funeral for Selma A. Farnsworth, 77, is scheduled for 11 a.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Rockford.
Born in Rockford, Mrs. Farnsworth died Tuesday.
She moved to Spokane as a child and worked as a waitress for various restaurants.
Mrs. Farnsworth was a member of the Spokane Indians Boosters Club.
She is survived by a sister, Gladys Richardson of Seattle.

Dorothy (McNeil) Maxfield Burns Spokane
Memorial service for Dorothy (McNeil) Maxfield Burns will be held at a later date. Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Burns, who died July 31, was 86. She was born in Spokane.
In 1947 she married Bill Burns.
She worked for Boeing in the Seattle area and at a weather station in Brookings, Ore.
She lived in Spokane for 61 years and was a homemaker and an avid bowler.
Her husband died in 1984.
Survivors include a stepdaughter, Nancy Gorbet of Cottonwood, Calif.; a stepgranddaughter and a stepgreat-granddaughter.
Eleanora Moxcey Spokane
Funeral for Eleanora T. Moxcey, 80, is planned for 9 a.m. Monday at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Mrs. Moxcey, who died Wednesday, was a 33-year resident of Spokane.
She was born in Belmont, Texas, and worked as a cashier at the former Larson Air Force Base in Moses Lake and at Fairchild Air Force Base for more than 15 years.
Her husband of 40 years, John Moxcey, died in 1982.
Survivors include a son, Michael Moxcey of Lamont, Wash.; three daughters, Patricia Wright, and Kerry and Lou Anne Moxcey, all of Spokane; a brother, Edgar Kallies of Seguin, Texas; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Inland Empire Alzheimer’s Association of Eastern Washington.
Kristine Mason Spokane
Memorial service for Kristine Diane Mason, 34, is planned for 1 p.m. today at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. The Cremation Society of Washington is in charge of arrangements.
Miss Mason, a lifetime resident of Spokane, died Thursday.
She graduated in 1982 from West Valley High School and was a homemaker.
Survivors include her companion, Kenny O’Neall of Spokane; a daughter, Stephanie Mason, and two sons, Michael and Charles Mason, all at home; her father and stepmother, John and Carolina Mason of Spokane; her mother and stepfather, Muriel and Robert Harmer of Spokane; a brother, Jeff Mason, and a sister, Dianna Budgen, both of Spokane; and her grandmother, Nelma Johnson of Spokane.

Florence (Ebner) Koppe Spokane
Memorial service for Florence B. (Ebner) Koppe, 97, is set for 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bethany Presbyterian Church. The Cremation Society of Washington is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Koppe, who was born in Sunbury, Pa., died Thursday.
She moved to Spokane at age 11 to work in the family store at Fourth and Cedar. The milk bottle shapedstructure still stands there.
Mrs. Koppe worked as a bookkeeper for a stocks and bonds firm and at a bank in Spokane until 1936, when she married Norman Koppe.
She was a member of the Trail Mountaineer Club, in which she was a part of a expedition of men and women to climb the Three Sisters mountains in Oregon in 1925. She was the second woman known to scale Mount Rainier.
Mrs. Koppe was also a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Kathryn Banister of Spokane; a son, Richard Koppe of Fox Island, Wash.; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
