UI Foundation Funds Research Building

From Staff

Funding has been found for the University of Idaho Research Park’s first permanent building.

The university foundation recently agreed to lend the research park $1.9 million for construction of the 30,000-square foot building. Federal funds will pay for the remainder of the $2.9 million building.

The building will house about 5,000-square feet of university offices and classrooms, and the rest will be rented to high tech companies. Rental income will be used to repay the loan.

Construction is slated to begin next spring, with the building ready for occupancy by November 1999.

The research park is currently housed in rented quarters owned by the Jacklin Land Co.
