Fair Mascot Needs A Name

The chicken needs a name. What chicken, you ask? The official chicken mascot of the 1998 Spokane Interstate Fair, of course.

People of all ages are invited to enter a contest to name the chicken. And it’s not just any chicken, it’s a “rollicking line-dancing chicken,” according to fair officials. The chicken is part of the “Boot Scoot Your Boogie to the Fair” theme.

The name cannot be more than two words. Entry deadline is Aug. 28. Only one entry per person is allowed. Entry forms are available at Spokane County or City Public Libraries, the commissioners office in the Spokane County Courthouse, or at the Spokane County Fair and Expo Center office. (In case you missed it, that’s the new name of the Spokane County Fairgrounds.)

The contest winner will receive two Family Pak tickets, which include admission, food coupons and carnival rides.
