Bernstein Goes Online

Samples from the 400,000 letters, photos, manuscripts, recordings and other memorabilia of composer and conductor Leonard Bernstein in a Library of Congress collection went online Tuesday, on what would have been his 80th birthday. Bernstein died in 1990. The 85 items on the Internet include the first known photo showing Bernstein conducting, leading the Camp Onata Rhythm Band in 1937. The sample can be seen at www.loc.gov.
