Driver Killed In Crash While Trying To Pass

A 65-year-old Bothell woman was killed Saturday evening in a car accident on Highway 26, about 11 miles east of Washtucna, according to the Washington State Patrol. Marion Williams was headed west on the highway when she tried to pass a car, lost control and ran into an oncoming Ford truck driven by John Blake, 57, of Mount Vernon, according to the WSP.

It was snowing and the road was wet when the accident occurred around 8:10 p.m.

Williams was not wearing a seat belt. Her 1992 Chevy Geo was totaled. She suffered head trauma and internal injuries. She was pronounced dead at the Adams-Ritzville Hospital.

Neither Blake nor his passenger, Alex Bohler, 29, also of Mount Vernon, were injured. They were wearing seat belts. The Ford truck sustained $3,000 damage.
