Cell Phone Coverage Improved
AirTouch Cellular customers can expect better cellular phone coverage in the Bigelow Gulch and Green Bluff areas by early next year.
AirTouch will install a 60-foot cellular telephone antenna on a small piece of leased land at 7015 N. Argonne Road.
The company was issued a building permit for the project this week.
The tower should be operational by February, AirTouch officials said.
The tower will provide for more continuous coverage north of the Valley and in the area around Argonne Road.
Customers have been requesting the change, AirTouch officials said.
The project will include a tower with four directional panels and a 12-by-20-foot equipment building. It will be enclosed by a chain-link fence.
