Norman Donart Coeur d’Alene
Memorial service for Norman D. Donart, 84, will be today at 11 a.m. at English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene.
Mr. Donart, who was born in Coeur d’Alene, died Wednesday.
He graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School in 1931 and served with the 10th Armored Tank Division during World War II. He received a Letter of Commendation for service during the Battle of the Bulge.
Mr. Donart later returned to the Coeur d’Alene area and worked in the auto repair business. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Coeur d’Alene Eagles Lodge.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Hazel; a son, Don Donart of Coeur d’Alene; a sister, Lynda; two grandsons, Hank and Jason; and one great-grandson, Brandt.

Evelyn Daschbach Spokane
Funeral for Evelyn D. Daschbach, 77, will be at 2 p.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Burial will be at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
Mrs. Daschbach, who was born in Chewelah, Wash., died Tuesday.
She worked as a buyer for 2 Swabbies Clothing Store in Spokane for 12 years and worked in concessions at the Spokane Coliseum, Joe Albi Stadium and Playfair Race Course.
Her husband, Richard, died in 1989.
Survivors include a son, Richard Daschbach of Spokane; two daughters, Mary Willmont of Spokane and Kathleen Meshew of Twin Lakes, Idaho; a brother, Archie Baker of Spokane; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of the Inland Northwest.
Richard Crooks Orofino, Idaho
Private service for Richard Charles Crooks, 63, will be held at a later date. Short’s Funeral Chapel in Moscow is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Crooks, who was born in Moscow, died Wednesday.
He grew up in Moscow and Orofino, where he graduated from high school in 1953.
Mr. Crooks served with the Army in Germany during the Korean War and also worked as a Russian linguist and spy as a communications specialist.
He returned to Moscow in 1964 and received a political science degree from the University of Idaho in 1967. He moved to California and worked as a technical writer for Lenkurt Electronics and as a high school teacher for several years.
Mr. Crooks later moved to Oregon and worked as the educational director for the Oregon Department of Real Estate and then was the owner of High Desert Mortgage Co. for several years.
He moved to Lewiston in 1994 and founded State Line Mortgage Co., moving the main office to Orofino in 1997, and opened a branch office in Moscow.
Survivors include two sons, Bradley Crooks of Moscow and Richard “Kass” Crooks of Oregon; his mother, Esther Crooks of Orofino; three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Anne (Cook) Gurr Alexandria, Va.
Graveside service for Anne (Cook) Gurr, 97, was Nov. 28 at Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville, Md.
Mrs. Gurr, who was born in Spokane, died June 23.
She worked at the Fairmont Creamery for 17 years in the 1920s and 1930s, and with the Navy at Farragut Naval Station and the Army Galena Air Base during World War II.
In 1950 she worked as a census enumerator and later as a bookkeeper and a secretary with Appliance Parts on Trent Avenue.
Mrs. Gurr retired from managing the accounts of Pines Road Service in Opportunity in 1971, which her husband, Robert, owned.
She moved to Evanston, Ill., in 1977, until the death of her husband in 1980, when she moved to Northern Virginia, until 1984.
Mrs. Gurr had lived at the Friendship Terrace in Washington, D.C., for 14 years. She was living at the Woodbine Rehabilitation and Retirement Home in Alexandria at the time of her death.
Survivors include two sons, Ted Gurr of Annapolis, Md., and David Gurr of Alexandria; and four grandchildren.
Quintin Dunbar Sr. Kettle Falls, Wash.
Funeral for Quintin R. Dunbar Sr., 93, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Danekas Funeral Chapel in Colville, Wash. Private burial will follow at Mountain View Park Cemetery in Colville.
Mr. Dunbar, who died Wednesday, was born in Columbus, Kan.
He graduated from Columbus High School and worked in the mining industry.
Mr. Dunbar farmed and was a truck driver, delivering produce during the Depression.
In 1927 he married Beulah Stickleman, and they moved to Galena, Kan., where he worked in highways construction. They later moved to Bluejacket, Okla., where he was a farmer.
They lived in Kellogg for five years before returning to Bluejacket.
In 1967 they moved to Kettle Falls, where he worked for Avey Brothers Lumber and Brauner Lumber Co.
After his retirement, Mr. Dunbar worked in the senior program for the Forest Service.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Quintin Dunbar, Jr., of Puyallup, Wash.; three daughters, Kathy Kosanke of Post Falls, Mary Topp of Clark Fork, Idaho, and Juanita Foster of Central City, Neb.; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Ida (Weber) Kerzmann Tekoa, Wash.
Funeral Mass for Ida C. (Weber) Kerzmann, 99, was Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Tekoa. Private burial was held.
A 90-year Tekoa resident, Mrs. Kerzmann died Monday. She was born in Quincy, Ill.
She worked as a mid-wife in private practice and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Tekoa.
Survivors include nieces, Marie Sterley of Chewelah, Wash., Clara Horton of Electric City, Wash., Lucille O’Leary of Helena, June Ratzburg of Seattle, Margaret Roberts of Mosier, Ore., and Lois Drewer of New Jersey; three nephews, Arthur Morin of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, Bob Morin of Osburn, Idaho, and Paul Weiters of Lewiston.

Leona Spears Medical Lake
Visitation for Leona Mae Spears, 79, will be from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home. Funeral is planned for noon Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Riverside Memorial Park.
Mrs. Spears, who was born in Coeur d’Alene, died Tuesday.
She worked as a nurse at various nursing homes.
Mrs. Spears was a member of the Chester Community Church in Spokane.
Survivors include three sons, Larry Wing of Spokane, Jerry Wing of Nine Mile Falls and John Wing of Deer Park; three daughters, Dolores Bollman and Janet Wing-Popoff, both of Spokane, and Donna Johnson of Medical Lake; 27 grandchildren and 59 great-grandchildren.
Darryl Lunders Athol, Idaho
No service will be held for Darryl S. Lunders, 64. English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Lunders, who was born in Rubens, Idaho, died Wednesday.
He graduated from high school in Kamiah, Idaho, in 1952 and served with the Air Force until 1956.
Mr. Lunders returned to the Kamiah area and worked as a logger, construction worker and on the Camas Prairie Railroad.
He moved to the Coeur d’Alene area in 1974 and worked in construction until becoming disabled in 1978. He received an associate degree in forestry tech from North Idaho College.
Mr. Lunders worked for the Forest Service at the Fernan Ranger District until retiring.
Survivors include a daughter, J.R. Cummings of Athol; a brother, Kent Lunders of Coeur d’Alene; two-half brothers, Herman Lunders Jr. of Las Vegas, and Darryn Lunders of Kentucky; two stepsisters, Janey Gund of California and Betty Schoening of Coeur d’Alene; four stepbrothers, Donnie Schoening of Maryland, Joe and Jack Schoening, both of Nevada, and Tom Schoening of Virginia; and one grandson, Jonathan.
