High-Flying Finn

Finland’s Hannu Manninen, the World Cup leader, sails in the jumping phase of the World Cup Nordic combined competition in Steamboat Springs, Colo. He placed third. Japan’s Satoshi Mori had the longest jump of the first round, giving him a 2-second lead going into the cross-country phase of the two-day meet.
