Salute Those Who Serve
When U.S. military forces enter combat, no matter what the political circumstances might be, the folks at home have a clear duty. Our duty springs from the fact that the men and women now in combat are acting on the command of leaders we have elected.
Our duty is to pray for the troops and their commanders, and to support their families who live among us. There will be political controversy over this week’s bombing of Iraq. But let us separate that controversy, when it comes, from our respect for the individual troops who have placed their lives at our nation’s disposal.
