Sasquatch Earn Berth In Finals

Sarah Harchuck threw in 19 points and teammate Jen Clark added 18 Friday night as Community Colleges of Spokane blasted Everett Community College 68-49 in the second round of the Yakima Valley Community College Crossover tournament.

Harchuck made 4 of 7 3-pointers and Clark pulled down seven rebounds and blocked four shots for the Sasquatch, who missed several wide-open 3-point attempts and shot just 42 percent from the field.

Harchuck also made six of CCS’s 12 steals against an Everett team that had trouble protecting the ball and converted less than 33 percent (20 of 61) of its field-goal tries.

This was the third time the teams have faced each other this season. They split two earlier meetings.

The victory earned the Sasquatch - who beat Mt. Hood Community College 74-60 in Thursday’s first round - a berth in today’s 4 p.m. championship game against Southwest Oregon.
