Police Called To 3 Armed Robberies

Police responded to three armed robberies in north Spokane over a 90-minute span Friday night.

The first occurred about 6 p.m., when a man walked into the Smokers Outlet at 926 W. Indiana, showed a handgun and demanded money, police said.

He fled in a full-size white Chevrolet truck, driving north on Monroe Street. The robber was described as white, 40 to 45 years old, about 6 feet tall. He had a pock-marked face and no facial hair.

The second robbery occurred at Taco John’s, 1002 E. Wellesley, at 7:20 p.m. A man displayed a seven-inch knife and demanded money, police said. He was described as white, in his 30s, with several days’ growth of a beard. He wore tinted glasses.

Five minutes later, a man in a black ski mask walked up to the cashier’s booth at the Spokane Arena and opened the door. Police said he held his hand in his pocket as though he had a gun and demanded money. He is described as white, 5 feet 11 inches tall, 180 pounds.

Police said the holdups don’t appear to be related. Anyone with information on the crimes is asked to call Crime Check, 456-2233.
