Hearing Scheduled In Death Of Infant

A preliminary hearing has been set for Wednesday in the first-degree murder case of a local man.

John D. Franzatti, 18, is accused of beating 4-month-old Blake Alan Kitchen to death last month.

Franzatti was set to face a first-degree murder charge during a preliminary hearing two weeks ago, but it was postponed for procedural reasons.

Kitchen was the son of Franzatti’s live-in girlfriend. Doctors had determined the infant’s injuries were consistent with shaken baby syndrome. , DataTimes
