Utah: The House on Thursday passed a bill that would stiffen penalties for “eco-terrorists” attacking agriculture, mining and logging industries.

“Unless this legislation is passed, the entire (economic) future (of the state) … could be ruined,” said Rep. Dennis Iverson, R-Washington.

Rep. Ralph Becker, D-Salt Lake, said he was worried that the measure would criminalize civil disobedience.
