Dollar Continues Drop Against Yen
The dollar fell broadly Thursday, dropping to its lowest level against the Japanese yen in nearly three months.
The dollar retreated amid renewed optimism that Asia’s turmoil has stabilized and on new worries about the investigation of President Clinton’s relationship with former White House intern Monica Lewinsky.
“Clinton’s problems, real or perceived, put a negative tint on the dollar,” said John Hanly, foreign exchange manager at Bank Austria. “It’s interesting that the markets are assuming she is going to say something bad.”
