Davis Love III shot a 10-under-par 62 for a one-stroke lead in the first round of the Buick Invitational in San Diego.

Bob Tway, Steve Jurgensen and Jeff Sanday - who played his way into the tournament in the Monday qualifier - were tied with Fuzzy Zoeller at 63.

Former Pullman resident Kirk Triplett shot a 71.

Greg Norman got off to a strong start in a bid to win his own tournament for the first time, but still trailed the leaders by two shots after the first round of the Greg Norman International in Sydney, Australia.

Australian’s Justin Cooper and Stephen Allan lead at 66.

The Pebble Beach tournament, which was to finish March 2 after a storm washed it out, will conclude Aug. 17, the PGA said.
