Ivia Peone Spokane

Ivia Mitchner Peone celebrates her 100th birthday today.

She was born Feb. 7, 1898, in Ontario, Canada, and moved to the Inland Northwest 69 years years ago.

She and Virgil Peone were married in 1918; he died in 1976.

The Peones had one son, Valley Fremont, who died in 1993.

Peone attributes her longevity to a healthy life, and because she just kept going.
