Nba Officials Leader Retiring

Darell Garretson, the chief of the NBA’s officials, will retire from that post at the end of the season and fill a new job as director of referee training.

Garretson has headed the officiating staff the past 17 years and worked as one of the league’s top officials for a quarter-century. A new chief of officiating is expected to be named before next season, said NBA commissioner David Stern.
