Two-Hour Standoff Ends With 3 Arrests
Spokane sheriff’s deputies spent two hours waiting for three men to surrender after an assault in a Valley apartment Sunday morning.
The men visited a couple in an apartment in the 500 block of North Flora early Sunday. The husband and wife there had some methamphetamine, said Dave Reagan, sheriff’s spokesman.
The men and the couple had a discussion and the men left. They returned with a shotgun and handgun and assaulted the husband by punching and kicking him and hitting him with the stock of the shotgun, Reagan said.
The man’s wife called 911. Sheriff’s deputies arrived and surrounded the house.
The victims were able to get out of the apartment, and deputies evacuated other residents. About two hours later, the three men surrendered and were arrested.
Tristan Beeman, Caleb Sanford and Nicholas Granly - all 19 years old and from Spokane - were booked into jail on first-degree robbery. The matter of the drugs at the apartment still is being investigated, Reagan said.
