Man Killed When Mobile Home Falls

From Staff And Wire Reports

A Colbert man was killed Monday when the mobile home he was working beneath collapsed on top of him, Spokane County Sheriff’s deputies said.

The 41-year-old victim had gone out to work on the single-wide trailer in a field just north of Lane Park Drive and east of state Highway 2 in Colbert about 11 a.m. Monday, deputies said.

When he did not return for dinner, his mother started looking for him.

She found him pinned beneath the home, which had slipped off its blocks, deputies said.

She ran to a gas station and got the help of a tow truck. The trailer was lifted and the man was pulled from underneath before paramedics arrived, deputies said.

The victim, who was not identified, was pronounced dead at the scene, deputies said.
