Miner Seeks To Expand Operation
The U.S. Forest Service is taking comments on a proposed gold exploration operation in the area of McGuire Creek in the Red River Ranger District.
McGuire Creek is a tributary of Big Creek. Wallace Vaux of Blaine, Wash., is proposing to construct a bridge, widen a trail for equipment, and trench and drill on his Gold Hill claims. Exploration operations would occur during the summer for five years.
Vaux has worked his claim for years by hand.
Questions or comments can be directed to John Bisbee, district ranger of the Red River Ranger District, (208) 842-2245.
