Vandals Show Interest In Seahawks Vp

The list of candidates for Idaho’s vacant athletic director’s job is form ing and one name stands out as particularly intriguing.

Randy Mueller, Seattle Seahawks vice president of football operations, has been contacted by UI officials, The Spokesman-Review has learned.

Mueller is a native of St. Maries. He’s been with the Seahawks in various capacities since 1983.

UI assistant A.D. Mike Marlow and Utah associate A.D. Peter Hart have said they plan on applying.

Other potential candidates include Alaska-Anchorage A.D. Tim Dillon and Portland State A.D. Jim Sterk. Both were non-committal when asked if they’ll apply.

The Spokane Vandals Booster Club holds its weekly meeting at Finnerty’s Red Lion at noon today.

NIC defeats CCS

Jovann Johnson scored 30 points and added nine rebounds and Gabe Watson chipped in 20 to lead the North Idaho Cardinals past CC Spokane in a non-league college basketball game 105-73.

The Cards used an 11-2 run in the final 1:12 in the first half to break a 34-34 tie. Cedrick Day scored 16 to lead CCS.
